5 Wonders of Fair Lawn

The Working Press      May 5th, 2009

Did you know there are 5 wonders of Fair Lawn to go with the 7 wonders of the world?

The Great Library of Fair Lawn
1. The Library of Fair Lawn, comparable only to the late, great Library of Alexandria.

The Fair Lawns of the Fair Lawn
2. The Parks of Fair Lawn, a display of benches and grass not seen since the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon

Radburn…sort of like a bubble, “if you will”
3. Radburn is an isolated but self sustaining part of Fairlawn, cut off from society. Radburn is, if you will, sort of ‘a bubble’ where there exists a different time and space, piece and quiet. It was not at all difficult see how Radburn is THE BIODOME!

Weir – the great wall of stopping fish
4. Weir is a structure in the Passaic River…one of the few remnants of Native American history exist. We at the State actually find this one quite fascinating. The Weir is a “V” shaped wall of stones to keep the crab people out of Fair Lawn. No, actually it was built to catch bass and other river fish back in the old days. This is a clear instance of how Native Americans respected mother Earth. Nevertheless, Weir is not quite unlike a similar wall built for a similar purpose…

Nabisco
5. Nabisco – Towering over the surrounding countryside and making its presence known simply by its being (or baked gooey-chocolate aroma), the Nabisco monolith is a towering tribute to commerce and enterprise. The Nabisco building can clearly find it’s sister wonder in the Colossus of Rhodes!
