Freedom’s Defense Fund Launches “Christie Exposed”
The Working Press May 4th, 2009Today, the Freedom s Defense Fund (FDF) unveiled a Web site, direct mail and the first of what could be several television ads targeting Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie. According to FDF, the ad centers around recently reported pay-to-play and no-bid contract controversies during Christie s tenure as U.S. Attorney, despite his public pledges to end these corrupt practices, should he become New Jersey s Governor.
As a leading advocacy group in the conservative movement, we have a responsibility to weigh in when choices are clear in Republican primaries, said Todd Zirkle, Chairman of the Freedom s Defense Fund. In New Jersey, we have an ethically challenged candidate versus a principled conservative in Steve Lonegan. It s a no-brainer to get involved.
Freedom s Defense Fund ads will be airing on cable news networks across the state. Direct mail is designed to support the television campaign and a Web site has been created at www.christieexposed.com.
If we can expose New Jersey to the risks of Chris Christie and help be the conscience of the conservative movement, we re happy to do it, said Zirkle. If it benefits a tax-reforming, waste-gutting, family-supporting candidate like Steve Lonegan, so much the better.
FDF is a political action committee (PAC). FDF is dedicated to the principles of limited government, as the Founders understood them. FDF stands with conservative, pro-freedom candidates against the radical left and their elitist allies in Washington. FDF was established in 2004 and has over 20,000 supporters nationwide.
