It ain’t rocket science

The Working Press      June 25th, 2009

It really doesn’t take any thinking person long to understand why the Assembly GOP is destined to remain a permanent minority party. Today in Trenton with a mess of a state budget and six tax hikes on the agenda, DeCroce has Burlington County GOP boss Bill Layton in the Assembly caucus trying to kill the Party Democracy Act.

Layton is pushing a hostile amendment to remove the secret ballot for party conventions; thereby allowing party bosses to deny real bi-partisan reforms of the county committee process.

With all that is going on today, this is DeCroce’s concern? Allowing a lobbyist/party boss to argue why democracy should be stifled is the focus of the caucus’ meeting?
