DeCroce Gets to Apologize

Lisa Llewellyn      January 26th, 2010

GOP Assembly Leader Alex DeCroce chose the anniversary of Pearl Harbor to drop a bomb on his caucus. They had assembled last December 7th to hear from Lt. Governor-Elect Kim Guadagno. DeCroce misplaced the script handed to him by the ever present Rick Wright, and mistakenly picked-up a nearby copy of “Horse & Hound”. Reading from it, he said: “Isn’t she the prettiest thing,” or words to that effect. Hilarity failed to ensue.

A month and some e-mails later and DeCroce had his women members frog-marched into his office so that he could read them a prepared lecture about how they should come to him before circulating correspondence of complaint. He then read an apology for the December 7th incident, with his legal counsel by his elbow.

“No problem”, said the Republican women, we’re used to being treated this way. They were just happy DeCroce doesn’t read Smooth Magazine.
