Today, the Freedom’s Defense Fund (FDF) unveiled a Web site, direct mail and the first of what could be several television ads targeting Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie. According to FDF, the ad centers around recently reported pay-to-play and no-bid contract controversies during Christie s tenure as U.S. Attorney, despite his public pledges to end these corrupt practices, should he become New Jersey s Governor.

“KEEP MY BROTHER OUT OF IT”

Chris Christie complained when his brother was brought into his campaign relative to being accused of trading violations by the SEC and named in complaints by the US Attorney in New York.

While offering no explanation and seeming to scold anyone who would dare question what had occurred, he insisted in no uncertain terms that it was unfortunate when a candidate’s family members were brought into a campaign and dragged through the mud. He got petulant and angry and simply said “leave my brother out of it.”…

After playing a critical role in two losing presidential contests in 2008, this year looked promising for you.

This winter Chris Christie received a hero’s welcome from what is left of the traditional media when he announced his candidacy. The NJGOP cleared the path for you to be the establishment candidate.

While that was happening, Rick Shaftan, chief strategist for Steve Lonegan managed to offend, insult and alienate every potential ally. All of this left Lonegan to manage the campaign himself.

And somehow with all this and a fundraising advantage you could lose…
