THESTATENJ has in its possession a letter from Gary Fechter of Princeton Energy Systems (also managing executive of Wayne Energy Corporation (WEC) – a post he received after issuing a favorable feasibility study of the WEC project. This letter is addressed to Larry Barth of the New Jersey Clean Energy Program asking for an additional extension on the Solar Electric Project Rebate Commitment.
Of particular interest in this letter is the list of individuals who received carbon copies:
Assemblyman Scott Rumana, Chairman, Wayne Energy Corporation
Martin Ludwig, Wayne Energy Corporation
Robert Simpson, Wayne Energy Corporation Senator Kevin O’Toole, 40th Legislative District
Bruce James, Freeholder Passaic County
William Northgrave, Esq., McManimon & Scotland
Noreen Giblin, Chief of Staff, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities
Michael Winka, Director, Office of Clean Energy, NJ Board of Public Utilities
Inquiring minds want to know why Senator O’Toole is receiving copies of correspondence on a project that three separate state agencies have deemed as highly improper? Is he complicit? Could O’Toole, an environmental lawyer, have some substantial role in Rumana’s sleazy solar scheme? Is O’Toole sponsoring legislation to further enable Rumana’s seedy schemes? Could O’Toole – close to Jersey Democrats – be serving as a liaison between Rumana and the Democratic interests who hold the key to WEC’s future?
While “Brooklyn Al” Doblin’s bromance with Rumana continues, REAL news gathering organizations do the work Scott’s buddies just wont touch.
Thank goodness, ladies and gentlemen, for News12 New Jersey’s Walt Kane who Thursday featured a hard hitting segment on Rumana’s sleazy scheme. Quite frankly, I, as a former governor of THESTATENJ, was getting lonely being the only guy covering the most under-reported North Jersey news story of the year. Kudos also to PolitickerNJ’s Darryl R. Isherwood who (though giving Rumana far too little credit) wrote up a solid piece, Rumana’s Headache which was almost as entertaining as the comment flame war beneath his story.
This explosive investigation exposes Rumana’s plot for the crooked, Sharpe-Jamesque scheme that it is.
I especially love the visual that lays it all out there: Rumana on both sides of the table –
As the foremost web based character-illumination service in New Jersey, THESTATE editors have taken it upon ourselves to dissect the Board of Public Utilities (Board/BPU) docket which basically put the kibosh on Scott Rumana’s taxpayer-funded solar-powered patronage mill. The unethical, sleazy and arrogant scheme that Rumana has been promoting for 4 years was pounded by the BPU and the Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Rumana was presented with numerous opportunities to answer very legitimate questions about his conflicts of interest as both chair of Wayne Energy Corporation (WEC) and Wayne Mayor.
Yet, in a stunning display of arrogance and ignorance, Rumana refused to provide any sort of documentation demonstrating that his project was copasetic and even blamed the BPU and DCA for delaying his project! We kid you not; it’s all in the docket. Enjoy…
Today THESTATE provides an update on the most under-reported Northern New Jersey story of the year.
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, THESTATE is the ONLY media outfit writing on the explosive revelations of a sitting assemblyman, Boss Scott Rumana, being investigated for an unethical scheme to build a taxpayer funded (and solar powered) patronage mill.
We understand your confusion, loyal readers. Why, oh why, you ask, has the headline-grabbing story of a sitting assemblyman pounded for ethical lapses by BOTH the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and the Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics, not been reported by such eminent media outlets as the Record or PolickerNJ?
That question is one we cannot answer; we can only speculate. Perhaps North Jersey Media Group editor “Citizen Al” Doblin, a Brooklyn resident, is too far away from New Jersey to have any clue as to what happens in the Garden State. Perhaps Wally Edge (or shall we say David Wildstein) is only 2 degrees removed from Boss Scott Rumana? Like we said, we can only speculate as to the impetus behind such journalistic malpractice.
…
It’s been a bad year for D-40 Republican Assemblyman Scott Rumana, but you would never know it thanks to North Jersey Media Group (The Record and Herald News) editor Al Doblin. Doblin has repeatedly spiked stories related to the serious ethics charges and Board of Public Utilities rulings against Rumana. See BPU Docket Nos.q EOO8060423 and EMO8080631.
For several years political observers in Passaic County have watched Rumana attempt to build a taxpayer bilking patronage mill called the Wayne Energy Corp. Multiple sources have supplied the editors of this website with information related to Rumana’s sleazy and unethical proposal to build a co-generation plant in Wayne…
Like many people in THE STATE of NEW JERSEY (we think anyway), our opinion of Governor Chris Christie oscillates between love and hate. However, in all fairness we strive to keep an open mind as far as his policies go and we are more than happy to publish any materials his office provides our site.
A History of Dirty Deeds: Palatucci’s Community Education Centers a Defendent in At Least 30 Cases
One of our loyal readers, rightly outraged by this morning’s article, Gov Christie Ally & New RNC Member Palatucci’s Company Accused of Manslaughter, kindly forwarded us a list of Federal Court Cases naming Community Education Centers as a party to civil action. This monstrous list contains everything from employee discrimination cases to prisoner suits and names CEC as a defendent at least 30 times. Plus this table doesn’t even mention the various affiliates of CEC, such as Alternative Youth Adventures, the company responsible for Caleb’s death. …
“Did you say Caleb is dead I repeated this three times I fell to the ground and began crying and screaming. Oh God how could this man be so heartless. How could he on the phone tell me my son is dead? Why didn’t they show me the some common curtsy that would be shown some one’s family that was in a car accident? Some one should have come to my door. No one would even talk to me.” http://caleb-jensen.memory-of.com/about.aspx
That article detailed how Governor Chris Christie’s budget gave a $3.1 million funding increase Community Education Centers Inc while everyone else saw their budgets slashed. Christie ally William Palatucci is vice president of the juvenile delinquent rehabilitation and half-way house company.
Recently THE STATE was informed by an observant reader that Palatucci was just elected to the Republican National Committee. …
